About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join a friendly and supportive early years setting in North Yorkshire on an ongoing block booking basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who is committed to supporting young children’s learning and development. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing environment where children can thrive, learn through play, and reach their developmental milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Plan and participate in engaging activities that promote learning and development.
  • Foster a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and achievements.
  • Support children’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care, and outdoor play.
  • Contribute to planning and implementing age-appropriate learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within a nursery, preschool, or early years setting.
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
