About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join a dedicated children’s care team in Oxford.

The successful candidate will support children and young people in a residential or supported living environment, helping to promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. You will also provide guidance and leadership to support staff while ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily routines and activities
• Promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and personal development
• Lead shifts and provide support to junior staff members
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children and families
• Maintain accurate records, care plans, and reports
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
• Support children with behavioural, emotional, or additional needs
• Work closely with external professionals and multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People preferred)
• Previous experience working with children in a care or support setting
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends if required
• Full UK driving licence preferred
