About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEN Teachers to support pupils with special educational needs across a range of school settings. This is a rewarding opportunity for teachers who are passionate about helping children and young people reach their full potential in a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet individual learning needs, support emotional and social development, and work closely with school staff, families, and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to pupils’ individual needs.
  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning disabilities, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use differentiated teaching methods to support learning and progress.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil development.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, parents, carers, and external professionals.
  • Support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans where required.
  • Promote confidence, independence, communication, and positive behaviour.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status or a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
