Location: Bristol (attendance at hub required weekly/fortnightly for check-ins)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Qualified Fostering Social Worker to join our Fostering Services team. You will play a key role in supporting foster carers, ensuring high standards of care for children and young people, and contributing to positive outcomes through effective safeguarding and care planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, supervise, and develop foster carers to provide safe, stable, and nurturing environments
- Undertake assessments of prospective foster carers, including Form F assessments
- Complete regular supervision visits, unannounced visits, and annual reviews
- Ensure all fostering placements meet regulatory and safeguarding standards
- Work collaboratively with children, foster families, and multi-agency professionals
- Contribute to care planning, placement matching, and stability of placements
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports in line with statutory requirements
- Participate in safeguarding procedures, including child protection investigations where required
- Attend team meetings, training, and regular check-ins at the Bristol hub
- Promote the voice of the child and ensure their needs remain central to all decisions
Essential Requirements
- Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW or equivalent)
- Registered with Social Work England
- Previous experience within fostering or children’s services
- Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work independently
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable Criteria
- Experience completing Form F assessments
- Knowledge of therapeutic or trauma-informed approaches
- Experience working with complex placements
