Are you a skilled Clinical Psychologist with experience in stroke care? We have an exciting part-time opportunity in Somerset!

We are seeking a part-time Clinical Psychologist to join our Stroke Department in Somerset. This Band 8a role offers the chance to provide specialist psychological services to patients affected by stroke, working closely with an established multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to contribute to both inpatient and outpatient care in stroke rehabilitation.


Key Responsibilities for the Clinical Psychologist Role:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical psychology and neuropsychology services to adults across inpatient and community settings in Somerset.
  • Conduct neuropsychological assessments and provide psychological therapy to patients with stroke, brain injury, and other physical health conditions.
  • Work across multiple settings, including Musgrove Park Hospital, Williton Community Hospital, and the Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS).
  • Supervise and support pre-qualification psychologists within the stroke service.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and non-statutory organizations to provide integrated stroke care.
  • Engage in research, service development, and training to continuously improve care standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • Doctoral-level training in Clinical Psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience in psychological therapy for stroke, brain injury, or physical health conditions.
  • Neuropsychology experience in neurological rehabilitation.
  • Supervision experience with multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • QiCN/MSc in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Experience with specialist psychological therapy for neurological conditions.
  • Post-qualification training in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Training in multiple psychological therapies.
