About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse to take on a long line block booking in Bath. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Band 6 nurse to secure consistent, ongoing shifts while supporting critically ill and premature babies in a high-quality neonatal setting.

As a NICU Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in delivering specialised care for newborns requiring intensive or high dependency support. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each baby receives safe, effective, and holistic care throughout their hospital journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates with complex and critical needs.
• Monitor, assess, and manage ventilated and non-ventilated babies.
• Support and educate parents and families, offering emotional reassurance and guidance.
• Work collaboratively with doctors, neonatal specialists, and allied health professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to all care protocols and safeguarding procedures.
• Uphold infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times.

Requirements

Valid NMC registration (Adult or Child Branch)
Newborn Life Support (NLS) certification – essential
Qualified in Specialty (QIS) – desirable but not essential
Evidence of in-date mandatory training and completed compliance checklist
Recent experience working in a Level 2 or Level 3 NICU
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
