Prison Registered General Nurse (Peterborough)

Main Responsibilities

  1. Perform nursing duties within a prison healthcare setting.
  2. Administer medication and conduct medication rounds.
  3. Triage inmates in the clinic and respond to their healthcare needs.
  4. Manage the reception process, including admitting and discharging inmates.
  5. Provide care during Earlies, Lates, and Nights shifts.
  6. Adhere to the specified working hours and days: 06:30-20:00 & 19:30-07:30.

Qualifications & Training

Essential:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification.
  • Prison clearance and relevant experience in a similar setting.
  • Proficiency in medication administration and management.
  • Ability to perform clinical triage and respond to healthcare emergencies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability for Earlies, Lates, and Nights shifts.

Desired:

  • Previous experience in prison healthcare.
  • Familiarity with the reception and admission process within a prison.
  • Access to own transport for commuting.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
  • Previous experience working in a prison or similar secure environment.
  • Competency in managing medication rounds and responding to healthcare needs promptly.
  • Knowledge of prison healthcare protocols and procedures.
