As a Consultant in Stroke Medicine, you will provide expert clinical care, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients while leading initiatives that drive improved outcomes in acute and rehabilitation settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care in acute and rehabilitative stroke settings.
- Lead ward rounds in stroke units, ensuring the best care practices.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Neurology, Cardiology, and Emergency Medicine, to provide integrated care.
- Contribute to the development of stroke services, including hyper-acute stroke units (HASU) and stroke rehabilitation wards.
- Play an active role in teaching and training junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in on-call rotas for out-of-hours stroke services.
Requirements:
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice in the UK.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Stroke Medicine or evidence of equivalent experience.
- Experience in managing acute stroke cases, thrombolysis, and stroke rehabilitation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
