About the Role
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team based in Chessington. This dynamic and supportive team provides dedicated services to children and young people with disabilities, as well as their families, ensuring that they receive the care and support they need at every stage of their journey.
You’ll be part of a service that has achieved OUTSTANDING ratings across all areas from Ofsted — and you’ll play a key role in continuing that success.
Key Responsibilities
As a Social Worker in the Children with Disabilities Team, you will:
- Assess the needs of children with disabilities and their families.
- Develop and implement personalised plans in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals involved in the child’s life.
- Support children and families from early intervention through to adulthood, including transitions to adult services.
- Engage with children, young people, and families to ensure their voices are heard and their goals are met.
- Use a range of evidence-based interventions to achieve positive outcomes.
- Act as a link person for one of our local specialist schools.
- Mentor and support students and newly qualified staff, with opportunities for further professional development (e.g. Practice Educators Course or other relevant training).
- Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be:
- A Qualified Social Worker (registered with Social Work England).
- Experienced in working with children with disabilities and their families.
- Skilled in multi-agency working and partnership collaboration.
- Passionate about improving outcomes for children and families.
- Committed to continuous professional development.
